Learning walk and move...
Deportment is the way you present yourself, your overall appearance, your speech and your actions. If you want to be treated like a lady, then you must dress and act like one.
Men tend to be more inclined to act like gentlemen toward ladies who are dressed femininely and modestly. Deportment is about having elegance, grace, poise and high self esteem. This confidence and poise is seen as beauty. If you show the world that you expect great things, you are more likely to receive great things.Have you ever walked into a room and there is a woman who stands out, looking slightly better, well groomed than everyone around her. She’s the kind of person that you think ‘ I have to behave properly around her’ or ‘I can’t give her that’. That woman communicates through her body what is acceptable, and her expectations are high, without effort she appears to achieve more than others. That's what learning about deportment can do for you. You too can signal clearly that your expectations for yourself are high, and they should be too.
Be Feminine:
To be feminine is to be human and civil...it comes from being a lady, from having social graces, from being refined. There is nothing shallow about wanting to accentuate your femininity through appearance. So many women dress in traditionally masculine clothes and of course, you can be very feminine no matter what you wear. It is a fact that some women can wear a designer dress while others could wear a bin bag and still look feminine. It is not just the clothes, but many other things like perfume, make up, nice hair and accessories all added together than can make you more feminine.
Walking:
Pull forward: Men tend to lean forward when they walk, while women pull themselves forward with their lower extremities. When dressed, we want to walk with our shoulders back and stomach in.
Slow down: If you are always in a hurry, learn to walk slower. If you get the opportunity to watch a woman walking you will notice they meander and browse a lot.
Hips: Walking with one foot in front of the other naturally aids the hip movement, however it takes some practice to master the art of the wiggle. To practice this movement stand in place and practice by bending the left knee and thrusting the right hip out, then straighten the left knee as you bend the right knee and thrust the left hip out. It does take lots of practice, so don’t worry if it looks a little unnatural at first as once you have mastered this step it will look less awkward.
Practice:
Starting with the left foot moving forward: As it makes contact with the floor, let your left hip thrust out. This movement is helped because the right knee is starting to bend. Right foot next, and so on...taking small steps. I walk lightly, having learned it early. Women should walk gently, on the ball of their foot, not the heel. Back should be straight with the chin parallel to the ground. Smile a little, even if you don't feel especially happy.
